– the complete Stokke Stroller review!
YSG Rating: (4.5 / 5)
Weight: 26.5 lbs
The Stokke Xplory V6 is the top stroller by the great quality brand – Stokke. The Xplory V6 is a luxury style everyday stroller for both newborns and toddlers. It is quite expensive compared to most everyday strollers but it is also built with high quality features and materials.
It has all the features you’d want to have in your everyday stroller – car seat compatible, bassinet compatible, multi-position recline, adjustable handlebar, etc. It has a lot of Pros and also a number of Cons as shown later in this article.
You can read further for the full list of features and everything you need to know about the Stokke Xplory stroller:
Stokke Stroller Features
Car Seat Compatible: The Stokke Xplory V6 has multiple options for riding the stroller, and one of it is by using a car seat! You can easily attach any of the Stokke car seats with a simple click-in feature.
As a bonus, you can also attach car seats from other brands by using the Stokke car seat adapter. This gives you the option to use a car seat you already have or a car seat from a brand you prefer!
Note: both the car seat and car seat adapter are not included in the price. You’d have to purchase it separately!
Bassinet Stroller: Apart from being car seat compatible, the Xplory stroller is also bassinet compatible – giving you even more options for riding the stroller! You can easily attach the Stokke bassinet to the stroller frame, transforming the Xplory into a nice stylish pram.
Note: the bassinet also has to be purchased separately!
Newborn Stroller: Although the stroller seat cannot directly be used for carrying newborns, you can do this by attaching either a car seat or a bassinet! By simply replacing the stroller seat with either a bassinet or car seat, you can easily transform the Xplory into a nice newborn stroller. This allows you to carry your newborn comfortably aboard the stroller. Once your baby is older, you can switch back to using the stroller seat.
Reversible Seat: the stroller seat for the Xplory can be adjusted to be either forward facing or backwards facing. You can have your child facing you at the rear of the stroller or facing forward. This gives you and your baby even more options for riding the stroller!
One-Hand Multi-Position Recline: the stroller seat also has a multi-position recline feature. This allows you to recline the stroller into multiple positions. You can have your kid either sitting upright or laying flat in a comfortable horizontal position.
5-Point Harness: In terms of safety, the stroller seat has a 5-point harness system which helps to keep your baby safely strapped to the stroller seat.
Adjustable Handlebar: The Xplory has a nice adjustable handlebar that allows you to adjust the handlebar to the height of the parent using the stroller! This is great for tall and short parents. You can easily adjust the handlebar to suit the height of the parent using the stroller. This really saves you backache or shoulder pain from having to hunch over or push at an uncomfortable position.
Height Adjustable Stroller Seat: In addition to the handlebar height being adjustable, the stroller seat height can also be adjusted. You can have your baby sitting closer to you once the handlebar height is adjusted.
This feature is also great for visiting restaurants, you can have the seat adjusted to the table height, and you baby can easily join you at the table!
Adjustable Footrest: In terms of comfort, the stroller seat also includes an adjustable footrest. This helps to provide your kid with some leg support while riding the stroller. This is also great for naps as it is more convenient to not have your kid’s feet dangling while taking a nap.
The footrest can also be adjusted to fit the height of smaller or taller babies. So as your baby becomes older, you can adjust the footrest to fit their height.
Lockable Swiveling Front Wheels and Suspension System: In terms of ease of maneuvering and giving a smooth ride, I give the Stokke stroller a nice plus. It has lockable swiveling front wheels that makes it easier to maneuver the stroller. And the suspension system helps to give you and your baby a smooth and bump-free ride. This is a dream feature for any stroller you wish to buy. You can ride with your baby easily and hassle-free. And don’t have to worry about waking your baby up because the stroller keeps bumping around!
Storage Bag: Unlike most strollers, the Xplory does not have a storage basket. Instead it has a storage bag which you can fit underneath the stroller seat. This allows you to store and carry your on-the-go items aboard the stroller. You can carry your diapers, bottles, toys or snacks while on-the-go.
This feature is a little different from most strollers. But I won’t say 100% in a nice way. It takes quite a bit of effort to attach the bag and also make sure it is firmly in place. If asked, I’d prefer to have the regular stroller basket.
Extendable UPF50 Stroller Canopy: the Stokke Xplory has a 3-panel extendable canopy that provides your kid with enough cover. The canopy has a UPF50, sunproof fabric that helps to protect your kid against harmful UV rays!
The stroller canopy also has an open/close flap that acts as a peek-a-boo/ventilation window.
Child’s Weight: The Xplory stroller weighs about 26.5 lbs and is able to carry up to 45 lbs of child weight. Compared to most strollers, the carrying capacity is a bit smaller. It cannot be used for big kids more than 45 lbs.
Stokke Stroller Reviews
Before making a buying decision, it is always nice to review the pros and cons! Here is a short overview for you:
The above shows the main Pros of the Stokke Xplory stroller. The stroller includes features you don’t normally get in your regular full-size strollers. However, the stroller has a few Cons which need to be considered – the stroller is quite pricey at almost $1200, it is quite heavy at almost 27 lbs. This can be hard for small parents to carry or maneuver.
In addition, it can only take up to 45 lbs, which means that it’s only suitable for small kids. Your baby won’t be able to use the stroller once they reach a certain age. And lastly, the accessories for the stroller cost a few hundreds of dollars. If you’d like to get the bassinet or car seat, you see yourself spending almost $1500 in total!
So if you’re not prepared to splash a few dollars on your baby’s travel system, you might get frustrated with the prices once you need to buy more stuff for your stroller.
Based on the stroller features and reviews from parents who used the stroller, the Stokke Xplory gets:
