Mockingbird Stroller Review

– the complete Mockingbird stroller review!

YSG Rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars (4.8 / 5)

Weight: 26 lbs

The Mockingbird is a great quality everyday stroller for both newborns and toddlers. It is like a luxury style stroller in terms of features and quality, but more affordable. It has all the features you’d get with a luxury style stroller, and also a sleek design.

It is both car seat and bassinet compatible, allowing you to carry a newborn aboard the stroller. And the stroller has a carrying capacity of up to 50 lbs, which is suitable for big kids/toddlers – up to 6 years old. It includes additional features like – a reversible seat, adjustable handlebar, multi-position recline, etc.

Here is a quick review of all you need to know about the Mockingbird stroller!

Mockingbird Stroller Features

Car Seat Compatible: The Mockingbird stroller is car seat compatible! By purchasing the car seat adapter, you can easily attach car seats from top brands like Britax, Chicco, Graco and Evenflo. It is compatible with the popular Britax B-Safe, Graco SnugRide and the Chicco KeyFit car seats. If you already have one of these car seats, then it’s even better! Note: both the car seat adapters and car seat are not included in the price, so you’d have to purchase them separately. This unfortunately bumps up the price for the stroller even further up.

Bassinet Stroller: Apart from being car seat compatible, you can also attach a nice bassinet to the stroller frame. This transforms the Mockingbird stroller into a nice stylish pram. It gives you even more options/ways of riding the stroller!

Newborn Stroller: By replacing the stroller seat with either the bassinet or car seat, you can easily transform the Mockingbird into a nice newborn stroller. Allowing you to use it from the birth of your baby till they are older! Once your baby becomes a toddler, you can switch back to the stroller seat.

Reversible Seat: As a nice bonus, the stroller seat can also be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing. You can have your child facing you at the rear of the stroller or facing outwards. Gives you even more options for riding the stroller!

Multi-Position Recline: In addition, the stroller seat is able to recline into multiple positions. Unlike most strollers that claim to have a full recline, the Mockingbird seat actually reclines completely into a horizontal position. This is great for your baby lying back to have a nice nap.

5-Point Harness: Lastly in terms of safety, the stroller seat has a 5-point harness system which helps to keep your baby safely strapped to the stroller seat.

Adjustable Footrest: In terms of comfort, the stroller seat also includes an adjustable footrest that gives your kid some leg support while riding the stroller. This is also great for naps as it is more convenient to not have your kid’s feet dangling while taking a nap.

Lockable Swiveling Front Wheels and Suspension System: In terms of ease of maneuvering and giving a smooth ride, I give the Mockingbird stroller a nice plus. It includes lockable swiveling front wheels that makes it easier to maneuver the stroller. And the suspension system helps to give you and your baby a smooth and bump-free ride. This is the dream feature for any stroller you wish to buy. You can ride with your baby easily and hassle-free. And don’t have to worry about waking your baby up because the stroller keeps bumping around!

Flip-Flop Friendly Foot Brakes: for more ease of use, the stroller has flip-flop friendly foot brakes that allows you to quickly and easily apply the brakes on the stroller with a single toe tap when you need to.

Adjustable Handlebar: this feature is great for small and tall parents. You can easily adjust the handlebar to suit the height of the parent using the stroller. This really saves you backache or shoulder pain from having to hunch over or push at an uncomfortable position.

Self-Standing Quick Fold: the stroller also includes a quick fold feature that lets you easily fold it up by pressing a button and sliding a lever. This lets you fold up the stroller quick and easy in one motion and into a self-standing position. Sadly, like most full-sized strollers, it doesn’t fold up really compactly, but it is still small enough to store in a small corner or in your car.

Storage Basket: For storage, the stroller includes a large rear-accessible basket for storing your on-the-go items. You can carry your diapers, bottles, toys or snacks while on-the-go.

Extendable UPF50 Stroller Canopy: Another great part of the Mockingbird stroller is its 3-panel extendable canopy that provides your kid with enough cover. It also comes in three different colors giving you the option to choose whichever color suits you best. And lastly the UPF50 fabric also helps to protect your kid against UV rays!

Child’s Weight: The stroller weighs about 26 lbs and is able to carry up to 50 of child weight. This makes it very suitable for big toddlers as well. With the Mockingbird, you can make use of the same stroller from the birth of your baby till they are much older!

Mockingbird Stroller Review

Before making a buying decision, it is always nice to review the pros and cons before going with a stroller. But fortunately for the Mockingbird stroller, there are way more Pros than Cons! Here is a short overview for you:

Pros

  • Can attach either car seat or bassinet
  • Lockable swiveling wheel and suspension system for an easy and smooth ride
  • Quick and easy self-standing fold
  • Handlebar for all heights

Cons

  • Additional accessories are costly
  • Heavy at 26 lbs for smaller parents

The above shows the main Pros of the Mockingbird stroller. These are features you don’t normally get all together in most full-size strollers. Which makes the Mockingbird a great stroller. In terms of Cons, the main down-sides to the stroller are the cost of the accessory and the stroller weight. Purchasing the car seat, the car seat adapter, and the bassinet comes at a not so small price. So adding all that up makes the stroller quite expensive. Although still not as expensive as most luxury strollers out there!

Also, the stroller weight of 26 lbs can be quite heavy to carry for smaller moms/parents. A more comfortable size is usually at 20-23lbs max.

Lastly, in terms of feedback and reviews from parents who also purchased and used the stroller, a lot of them had mostly nice things to say. Here is an overview of the likes and dislikes they mentioned:

Likes
  • Super stylish stroller
  • Smooth ride on all terrain
  • Easy to maneuver and make turns
  • Quick and easy to fold
  • Large basket for storing things
  • Full recline feature is great for naps
Dislikes
  • Fold is a bit bulky
  • Canopy is a bit short. Doesn’t provide full cover

There were barely any negative reviews to be found for the stroller. The only issue a very few parents pointed out was the size of the stroller. It is quite bulky so you need a bit of room to store it. And some parents found the canopy to be a tad bit too short. These are both points you need to consider before choosing the stroller. If you have enough room to store the stroller in your home or car, and if you don’t mind having a not so large canopy.

Based on the stroller features and parent reviews, the Mockingbird stroller gets:

Overall Rating:  4.8 out of 5 stars (4.8 / 5)

Price for Quality: 4.7 out of 5 stars (4.7 / 5)

Sturdiness: 4.9 out of 5 stars (4.9 / 5)
