Uppababy Vista vs City Select – Features

And the Uppababy Mesa infant car seat to the Uppababy Vista stroller frame. As a bonus, the City Select is also compatible with infant car seats from other brands – Britax, Chicco, Nuna, and Maxi Cosi. You only need to purchase the Baby Jogger car seat adapter, that allows you easily attach the car seat to the stroller frame. Note: for both strollers, the car seats also have to be purchased separately.

Bassinet Stroller: Both strollers are also bassinet compatible. By attaching the bassinet, you transform your stroller into a stylish pram for your newborn. Note: the bassinet is already included in the price for the Uppababy Vista, but for the City Select, it has to be purchased separately.

Baby Jogger Infant Bassinet

Newborn Stroller: By replacing the stroller seat with an infant car seat or a bassinet, you can transform both the City Select and Uppababy Vista into strollers for newborns.

All-Terrain Wheels: the Uppababy Vista and the City Select have all-terrain wheels that give you and your baby a smooth ride over all terrain. In comparison, the Uppababy Vista has a smoother and nicer drive than the City Select. But they both move nicely and bump-free on smooth or rough terrain.

Multi-Position Recline and Adjustable Footrest: the stroller seats for both strollers can be adjusted into multiple positions. From sitting upright to laying horizontally in a completely flat recline. This is great and convenient for taking naps. The adjustable footrest provides more comfort and room for your baby to rest their legs while sleeping.

5-Point Harness: in terms of safety, both strollers have a 5-point harness system that keeps your baby safely strapped into the stroller seat. A bonus feature for the UPPAbaby Vista harness is that it can be adjusted to fit the height of smaller or taller kids. So once your baby is older the harnesses don’t become too tight or uncomfortable.

Reversible Stroller Seat: lastly, both stroller seats can be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing. Even in the double stroller mode, you can have the stroller seats either facing you or facing forward. This gives you even more options for riding the stroller!

Stroller Fold: while the fold for each stroller is not so compact, they both fold up quite easily. Although the City Select folds up in two steps, the Uppababy Vista has a quick-fold feature that lets you fold up the stroller in a single step. Also, the Uppababy Vista folds up into a self-standing position, which makes it easier to store.

Adjustable Handlebar: the handlebars for both strollers can be adjusted to fit the height of the parent handling the stroller. This is nice for tall and short parents, where you can have the handlebar adjusted to your height or your partner’s.

Pros and Cons

After reviewing both strollers, here is an overview of the pros and cons of each stroller.

Uppababy Vista

Pros
  • Great design and quality fabric
  • Can convert from single to double stroller
  • Has adjustable handlebar for all heights
  • All-terrain wheels rides really smoothly
  • Easy steering and maneuverability
  • Great for newborns and older toddlers
  • Car seat and bassinet compatible
Cons
  • Really pricey
  • Fold is not too compact

The Uppababy Vista barely has any Cons. Only obvious Con is it’s really high price of almost $1000. The other Con is it’s fold. It doesn’t fold so compactly meaning you need more room to store it. And if you have a small car, it might not fit in the boot.

Baby Jogger City Select

Pros
  • Can convert from single to double stroller
  • All-terrain wheels rides nicely on all-terrain
  • Adjustable handlebar for all heights

Cons

  • Extra accessories cost a lot

The Baby Jogger City Select is a really great, more affordable alternative to the Uppababy Vista stroller. It is not as luxury and great looking as the Uppababy Vista, but it includes all the features you’d find there. It also has a lot of pros and the only cons are: the fabric quality, the fact that the accessories like the adapter and bassinet need to be bought separately, and that the stroller can only take up to 45 lbs.
