The Baby Jogger City Select and the Britax B-Ready G3 are both great quality everyday strollers for both newborns and toddlers. Both the City Select and B-Ready G3 are also convertible strollers that can be converted from a single to double stroller. They are both quite similar in terms of quality and features.

Here is a complete review of both strollers:

Britax B Ready G3 Stroller

Baby Jogger City Select Stroller

YSG Rating: 4.7 out of 5 stars (4.7 / 5)

Britax B Ready vs City Select – Affordability

In terms of price, the B Ready G3 and City Select strollers cost about the same – just under $400! This is a pretty decent price for as they fall somewhere between a luxury stroller and a regular full-size stroller.

They include features you’d normally only get in a luxury style stroller but only cost about half the price. And they cost slightly more than your regular full-size stroller which usually include less features and are cheaper. Therefore, both strollers meet somewhere in between – quality and features of a luxury style stroller, and slightly higher cost than a regular stroller. Check out the latest prices at Amazon:

Baby Jogger City Select

Britax B Ready vs City Select – Features

Single to Double Convertible Stroller: both the City Select and the B Ready G3 are convertible strollers! This means they can be transformed from a single to a double stroller to carry up to two kids. By attaching a second seat to your stroller frame, you can carry a twin or a second child aboard the same stroller. This makes both strollers a great option for growing families as you don’t have to buy a new stroller when expecting another child. Note: the additional stroller seats need to be bought separately!

Car Seat Compatible: Both strollers are car seat compatible. You can easily attach any of the Britax infant car seats to the B Ready G3 stroller frame and any of the Baby Jogger infant car seats to the City Select stroller frame. They both have an easy click-in feature that allows you to simply click-in the car seats without needing an adapter.

As a bonus, both strollers are also compatible with car seats from other brands! The B Ready G3 is compatible with infant car seats from major brands like Britax, Chicco, Nuna, and Maxi Cosi. You only need to purchase a car seat adapter, that allows you easily attach the car seat to the stroller frame. The City Select also has a car seat adapter that allows you to attach car seats from other brands – Britax, Chicco, Nuna, and Maxi Cosi.

Note: the car seats and car seat adapters have to be purchased separately!

I really find car seat adapters to be a great feature because if you already have a car seat from another brand – as a gift, or from a previous child, you won’t have to buy a new one!

Bassinet Stroller: Apart from being car seat compatible, both strollers are also bassinet compatible! You can easily transform your stroller into a stylish pram for your newborn by attaching the bassinet. And this not only allows you to carry newborns, it also gives you even more options for riding your stroller!

Britax B Ready Bassinet

Note: the bassinets are also not included in the price. You’d have to purchase it separately!

Newborn Stroller: Although you cannot directly use the stroller seats for the City Select or B Ready G3 for your newborn, you can easily replace it with an infant car seat or bassinet. Either of these options allows you to safely carry your newborn aboard the stroller.

Multi-Position Recline and Adjustable Footrest: the stroller seats for both the City Select and B Ready G3 can be adjusted into multiple positions. From sitting upright to laying horizontally in an almost flat recline. This full recline option is great and convenient for your kid to take naps.

The strollers also have an adjustable footrest that provides more comfort and room for your baby to rest their legs while sleeping. Strollers without this feature leave your kids legs dangling uncomfortably while they nap or ride the stroller.

5-Point Harness: in terms of safety, both strollers have a 5-point harness system that keeps your baby safely strapped into the stroller seat.

Reversible Stroller Seat: lastly, the stroller seats for both the City Select and B Ready G3 strollers can be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing. I like this feature because it gives you even more options for riding your stroller!

And in the double stroller mode, the City Select also allows the second seat to be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing. This option is unfortunately not applicable to the B Ready G3, the second seat only stays in the forward facing position.

Stroller Fold: The fold for both strollers are not so compact, but they both have an easy fold feature that lets you fold the stroller pretty quick and easily. The City Select folds up in one-step, while the B Ready G3 folds up in two steps. Both of them however, require two hands to fold.

Lastly, the B Ready G3 folds into a self-standing position. This  makes it easier to store without worrying about it toppling over.

Adjustable Handlebar: Both strollers also have a height adjustable handlebar! The handlebars for the City Select and B Ready G3 can be adjusted to fit the height of the parent handling the stroller. This is nice for tall and short parents, where you can have the handlebar adjusted to the height of the parent handling the stroller.

Britax B Ready vs City Select G3 – Wheels

The City Select has nice large all-terrain wheels that give you and your baby a smooth ride over all terrain. In comparison, the wheels for the B Ready G3 are not all-terrain, but they still move quite nicely compared to the average stroller.

Both strollers however include lockable swiveling front wheels that help with easy maneuvering and make rounding corners quite easy.

Lastly, they also have an all-wheel suspension system for a smooth and bump-free ride. A nice suspension system helps to prevent your stroller from bumping around when moving or going over small bumps.

Britax B Ready vs City Select – Weight & Capacity

In terms of weight, the City Select and B Ready G3 weigh about the same. But at around 30 lbs, both strollers are considered quite heavy. For small parents, this could be quite heavy and hard to maneuver.

Britax B Ready G3 Stroller Weight: 30 lbs

Baby Jogger City Select Stroller Weight: 29.7 lbs

Lastly, in terms of carrying capacity, the B Ready G3 can carry up to 55 lbs of child weight, making it suitable for big/older toddlers – even 6 year olds. On the other hand, the City Select can only carry up to 45 lbs.

Britax B Ready vs City Select – Dimensions

Both strollers are quite similar in dimensions however, the B Ready G3 is slightly more compact at just 24 inches wide.

Unfolded Dimensions:

  • City Select – 43.5″ L x 25.75″ W x 38.5″ H
  • B Ready G3 – 44″ L x 24″ W x 43.25″ H

But when folded, the City Select folds up a bit more compactly, making it easier to store in your car or carry with you.

Folded Dimensions:

  • City Select – 12.5″ L x 25.75″ W x 32.75″ H
  • B Ready G3 – 42″ L x 24″ W x 19″ H

Britax B Ready vs City Select – Basket

In terms of stroller basket size and its carrying capacity, both strollers have a fairly large stroller basket. The City Select basket has a carrying capacity of up to 45 lbs! You can carry all your on-the-go items without needing a second bag.

The B Ready G3 also has a large stroller, but one thing I found not to like is the net fabric around the basket. This could easily be torn or damaged compared to a full textured fabric. You’d have to be more careful with what you carry in it.

Britax B Ready vs City Select – Canopy

If you’re looking for a nice large canopy with your stroller, then both strollers are there for you. The B Ready G3 has a large extendable canopy that helps to provide enough cover and protect your kid against harsh weather.

On the other hand, the City Select has a large, UPF50, sun-proof canopy that helps protect your kid against harmful UV-rays. This feature sets the City Select a bit apart from the B Ready G3.

They both however, have really nice looking, great quality fabric compared to most strollers on the market.

Colors

In terms of variety, both strollers have a few color options you can choose from. The City Select has about 4 main color options – Grey, Blue, Dark Blue and Ocean Blue. And the B Ready G3 has about 5 color options – Grey, Navy Blue, Ash, Green and Black. With both strollers, you get to choose a color that’s more to your liking.

Pros & Cons

After reviewing both strollers, here is an overview of the pros and cons of each stroller.

Britax B Ready G3

Pros
  • Can convert from single to double stroller
  • Has adjustable handlebar for all heights
  • Great for newborns and older toddlers
  • Car seat and bassinet compatible
  • Wheel suspension system for smooth ride
  • Basket accessible from front and rear
Cons
  • Quite heavy at 30 lbs
  • Doesn’t have all-terrain wheels
  • Stroller fold is quite bulky
  • Canopy is not sun proof

Based on the above, I’d say the Britax B Ready G3 is a really great, more affordable alternative to a luxury style stroller. It does not have a few features present with the City Select – like the all-terrain wheel, or UPF50 canopy. It still stands strong next to the City Select in terms of features and quality.

Baby Jogger City Select

Pros
  • Can convert from single to double stroller
  • All-terrain wheels rides nicely on all-terrain
  • Adjustable handlebar for all heights
  • Car seat and bassinet compatible
  • Sun-proof canopy
  • All-wheel suspension system for smooth rides
Cons
  • Max. stroller capacity of only 45 lbs
  • Extra accessories cost a lot

Just like the B Ready G3, the Baby Jogger City Select is also a really great, and more affordable alternative to a luxury style stroller. It’s only cons are the carrying capacity and the high costs of getting accessories for the stroller.

Stroller Ratings

Based on the stroller features and parent reviews, both strollers have been giving a rating out of 5:

Britax B Ready YSG Rating: 4.6 out of 5 stars (4.6 / 5)

Baby Jogger City Select YSG Rating: 4.7 out of 5 stars (4.7 / 5)

Conclusion- Britax B Ready vs City Select

And that’s it for a full Britax B Ready vs City Select review! In general, both strollers are quite great. However, the City Select pulls a bit ahead of the B-Ready stroller in terms of features. And in terms of price, the B-Ready is slightly more affordable. So it is up to you to choose based on which you prefer!

The above shows you all you need to know about the City Select and the B-Ready. So I hope it has provided you with enough information to help make your purchase decision.
