Maclaren Triumph vs Quest – Features
Bassinet Stroller: Although neither strollers are car seat compatible, the Maclaren Quest is bassinet compatible. It has a birth kit option that can be attached to the stroller frame transforming your stroller into a stylish pram.
This gives you even more options for riding your stroller! Note: the birth kit needs to be purchased separately.

The Maclaren Triumph is unfortunately NOT bassinet compatible.
Newborn Stroller: of the two strollers, only the Maclaren Quest can be used for a newborn. The Maclaren Quest can be used from the birth of your baby – straight out of the hospital, till they are much older – up to 6 years old.
As mentioned earlier, the Maclaren Quest is bassinet compatible, so by replacing the stroller seat with the bassinet, your newborn can comfortably ride aboard the stroller. Once your baby is older (from 3 months), you can easily switch back to the stroller seat.
The Maclaren Triumph is unfortunately not a newborn stroller. It can only be used for children from 6 months old.
One-Hand Multi-Position Recline: both strollers have a one-hand recline feature. They both recline into multiple positions, including an almost flat recline.
With a nice recline feature, your baby can switch from sitting upright, to laying horizontally in a completely flat recline – especially great and convenient for taking naps.
In addition, each stroller has a footrest attached to the seats. This gives your baby some leg support while sitting on the stroller.
5-Point Harness: in terms of safety, both strollers have a 5-point harness system that keeps your baby safely strapped into the stroller seat. As babies tend to move around when you’re not paying full attention, the harness helps to keep them safely strapped into the stroller seat.
Quick One-Hand Fold: Both strollers have a one-step quick fold feature that allows you to fold up the strollers quickly and easily. They both have a true one-hand fold that lets you fold up the stroller without having to free up both hands.
The one-hand fold is always more convenient especially when you’re in a hurry or on-the-go. You can hold your baby on one hand and fold your stroller with the other.
Maclaren Triumph vs Quest – Wheels
For small lightweight strollers, the Maclaren Triumph and Quest have really nice riding wheels. They both have an all-wheel suspension system that helps to prevent your stroller from jiggling about. And they both move quite nicely over smooth and even terrains.
The lockable swiveling front wheels for both strollers also make them easy to maneuver.
Maclaren Triumph vs Quest – Weight & Capacity
The Maclaren Triumph and Quest are considered lightweight strollers – the Quest weighing just around 12.83 lbs and the Triumph at 11 lbs.
Maclaren Quest Weight: 12.83 lbs
Maclaren Triumph Weight: 11.04 lbs
The above weight is however without the canopy and basket. So you can expect the actual weight to be around 15 lbs.
Lastly, both strollers have a nice carrying capacity – the Maclaren Quest can carry up to 55 lbs and the Maclaren Triumph can also carry up to 55 lb. This is great for carrying older toddlers – even up to 6 year olds!
Maclaren Triumph vs Quest – Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, both the Maclaren Quest and Triumph are quite compact. And they are about the same in dimensions:
- Maclaren Triumph – 31.1” L x 17.7” W x 42.1” H
- Maclaren Quest – 32.3″L x 17.9″W x 42″H
Both strollers fold into a self standing position however, the Triumph folds up slightly more compact than the Maclaren Quest.
- Maclaren Triumph – 41″ L x 9″ W x 12″ H
- Maclaren Quest – 41.3″ L x 9.4″ W x 11″ H
Maclaren Triumph vs Quest – Basket
The Maclaren Quest and Triumph have decent sized rear accessible stroller baskets. They’re not so huge compared to most full-sized strollers but they still have a bit of room for carrying your on-the-go items – diapers, bottles, toys, snacks, etc. You might still need to take that extra bag with you if you need to carry a lot of stuff.
Maclaren Triumph vs Quest – Canopy
Compared to most lightweight strollers, the Maclaren Quest and Triumph have fairly large canopies. They both have UPF50, sun-proof canopies that help protect your kid against harmful UV-rays.
The canopy fabrics are also quite quality and not flimsy compared to most cheaply made lightweight strollers.
In terms of variety, both strollers offer a few nice color options. The Maclaren Quest – black, blue, light blue, and the Maclaren Triumph – black, white. This gives you a few options and allows you to pick a color that’s more to your liking!
Pros and Cons
Both Maclaren strollers are nice in terms of quality, however, they both have a few Cons that need to be considered before purchasing. A few parents mentioned that the front wheels for both strollers sometimes get stuck making it difficult to turn the stroller. This is because the lock button is placed at the front of the stroller which is easily accessible for your toddler to tap on. And the front wheels might get locked without you being aware of it. This could be a big safety issue as you suddenly won’t be able to move the stroller when you need to. You’d need to keep an eye on this if you purchase the stroller.
In addition, Maclaren offers a lifetime warranty for the stroller. But they make it quite hard to get once you actually try to redeem it. So you shouldn’t 100% count on the warranty if you have issues with the stroller in the future.
A lot of parents complained about these issues, which makes the Maclaren Quest and Triumph slightly less appealing.
After reviewing both strollers – their features, and parent feedback, here are their ratings:
Maclaren Quest: (4.4 / 5)
Maclaren Triumph: (4.1 / 5)
