Baby Jogger vs BOB – Features

Car Seat Compatible: The City Select and Revolution Flex are both car seat compatible! By using a car seat adapter you can easily attach your car seat to the stroller frame of both strollers.

They also both have car seat adapters for brands like Chicco, Britax, Graco and Peg Perego car seats! With this, you can attach car seats from other brands to your stroller frame.

Note, the car seat adapters are not included in the price for both strollers. You’d have to purchase them separately.

Bassinet Stroller: While both strollers are car seat compatible, only the Baby Jogger City Select is bassinet compatible. You can easily attach the Baby Jogger infant bassinet to the City Select stroller frame, transforming it from a jogging stroller into a stylish pram! Note: the bassinet also needs to be purchased separately.

The BOB Revolution Flex stroller unfortunately does NOT include a bassinet feature.

City Select Bassinet

Newborn Stroller: Although, the seats for both strollers cannot directly be used for newborns, you can still ride with your newborn by using either an infant car seat or a bassinet (in case of the City Select). By replacing the stroller seat  with either options, your newborn can comfortably ride aboard either stroller! And once your baby is old enough, you can easily switch back to the stroller seat.

Single to Double Convertible Stroller: In addition to being bassinet and car seat compatible, the City Select is also a convertible stroller! This means it can be transformed from a single to a double stroller to carry up to two kids. By attaching a second seat to your stroller frame, you can carry a twin or a second child aboard the stroller. This makes the City Select a great option for growing families as you won’t have to buy a new stroller when expecting another child.

Note: the additional stroller seats need to be bought separately!

City Select Second Seat

The BOB Revolution Flex unfortunately is NOT a convertible stroller, and cannot be used for more than one kid.

One-Hand Multi-Position Recline and Footrest: the seats for both strollers can be adjusted into multiple positions. Your baby can switch from sitting upright, to laying horizontally in a completely flat recline – it is especially great and convenient for taking naps. Both strollers have the true one-hand recline that lets you recline the stroller using only one hand!

In addition to the recline, both strollers also have a footrest attached to the seats. The footrest provides more comfort by giving  your child room to rest their legs while sitting aboard the stroller. The footrest for the City Select can be adjusted into multiple positions making it more comfortable for your baby depending on their sitting position.

5-Point Harness: in terms of safety, both strollers have an easy to adjust 5-point harness system that keeps your baby safely strapped into the stroller seat. As babies tend to move around when you’re not paying full attention, the harness helps to keep your baby safely strapped into the stroller seat.

Quick One-Step Fold: Both the City Select and Revolution Flex have a one-step fold that allows you to fold up the stroller quickly and easily. You can fold up either strollers easily and hassle-free.

Adjustable Handlebar: the handlebars for both strollers can be adjusted to fit the height of the parent handling the stroller. This is especially great for tall and short parents! It allows you to easily adjust the handlebar for both tall and short heights.

Baby Jogger vs BOB – Wheels

The great and most important feature for the Revolution Flex is its wheels! As a jogging stroller, the Revolution Flex has large all terrain wheels that allow you to drive the stroller over any terrain – smooth or rough. For a jogging stroller, this is a great feature as it doesn’t restrict the terrain you can go over while running with your stroller! It also has an all-wheel suspension system that gives you the smoothest ride and prevents the stroller from jiggling/bumping around while moving at a fast speed. Your baby can sit comfortably and enjoy a smooth ride while you jog!

Lastly, the lockable swiveling front wheel that makes the stroller easy to maneuver and allows you round corners smoothly and easily.

While the City Select also has all-terrain wheels, all-wheel suspension, and a lockable swiveling front wheel, it still doesn’t ride as nicely as the Revolution Flex. And it is also not a jogging stroller as its name might suggest. But it still rides quite smoothly compared to most regular, non-jogging strollers.

Baby Jogger vs BOB – Basket

In terms of storage, both the City Select and Revolution Flex do pretty great! The City Select has a large storage basket for storing your on-the-go items.

The Revolution Flex has a large storage basket and six additional storage pockets spread across the stroller. It gives you more than enough room for carrying your stuff. And you won’t have to carry that extra bag with you when going out.

Baby Jogger vs BOB – Canopy

If you’re looking for a nice large canopy with your stroller, then both strollers are pretty much there for you. They both have UPF50, sun-proof canopies that help protect your kid against harmful UV-rays. Apart from the UPF50 features, the canopies are both of high quality fabrics and great design. They don’t get wrinkly or look of low quality material like the average stroller.

The canopies also have an open and close flap that serves as both a ventilation and peek-a-boo window. You can open the flap to allow some air into the stroller, or you can check in on your infant or have a nice chat with your toddler while out for a walk!

Baby Jogger vs BOB – Weight & Capacity

On average, jogging strollers weigh quite a bit – some weighing as much as 30 lbs. So it is not surprising to see that the BOB Revolution weighs almost 29 lbs. However, the City Select on the other weighs about 28 lbs which is quite a lot for a regular non-jogging stroller:

Baby Jogger City Select Weight: 28 lbs

BOB Revolution Flex Weight: 28.5 lbs

And lastly, in terms of weight capacity, the Revolution Flex does way better than the City Select. The Revolution Flex is able to carry up to 75 lbs, while the City Select can only carry a max. of 45 lbs.

At a carrying capacity of 75 lbs the Revolution Flex is great for big kids – up to 8 years old. While the City Select has only 45 lbs – your kid would have to give up the stroller sooner than later.

Baby Jogger vs BOB – Dimensions

In terms of dimensions, the Revolution Flex is slightly more compact than the City Select:

Stroller Dimensions

  • Baby Jogger City Select – 43.5″ L x 25.75″ W x 38.5″ H
  • BOB Revolution Flex – 46″L x 25″W x 45″H

But while folded, the City Select is quite compact once folded. It folds up really compact allowing you to easily carry it or store in your car.

Folded Dimensions

  • Baby Jogger City Select – 12.5″ L x 25.75″ W x 32.75″ H
  • BOB Revolution Flex – 38″L x 25″W x 16″H

Colors

In terms of variety, The City Select has about 4 main color options – Grey, Blue, Dark Blue and Ocean Blue. The BOB Revolution on the other hand only provides two options – Black and Grey. With each stroller, you get to choose a color option that suits you more!
