As a short mom at 5’1, I also made the new mom/rookie mistake of buying a stroller without considering the handlebar height and the strain it could have on your arms and back. Tip #1: the ideal stroller handlebar height for short moms is somewhere between 38-40 inches (above ground) max. This means for example, if you are around 5 ft 2 inches you shouldn’t get a stroller with a handlebar height that is more than 40 inches above the ground.
Tip #2: Second thing to note is that it is always best to have an adjustable stroller handlebar instead of a fixed handlebar height. If the handlebar is adjustable between the heights of 35 inches to 40 inches for instance, you can comfortably adjust it to your desired height. And if you get a stroller with between the heights of 35 to 50 inches you and a taller spouse can both comfortably use the stroller. The handlebar height can be adjusted to a suitable height for either parent.
