Both strollers are quite similar in terms of features, price and style. However, the Uppababy Cruz pulls a bit ahead in terms of quality and ease of use.

Nuna Mixx vs Uppababy Cruz – Affordability

In terms of price, the Uppababy Cruz and the Nuna Mixx are right about the same price.

As mentioned, the Uppababy Cruz has an older 2018 version which is quite similar to the 2020 version. And the good news is that the 2018 version is slightly more affordable. So, if you really like the Uppababy Cruz but can’t afford to pay for the latest version, you can choose the 2018 version which gives you a great and more affordable alternative!

Nuna Mixx vs Uppababy Cruz – Features

Car Seat Compatible: Both the Nuna Mixx and Uppababy Cruz are car seat compatible. You can easily attach any of the Nuna infant car seats to the Nuna Mixx stroller frame. And the Uppababy Mesa infant car seat to the Uppababy Cruz stroller frame. While the Uppababy Cruz allows you to simply click in the car seat without any additional accessories, the Nuna Mixx requires an adapter that lets you attach the car seat to the stroller frame. Note: for both strollers, the car seats have to be purchased separately.

Bassinet Stroller: Both strollers are also bassinet compatible. By attaching the bassinet, you transform your stroller into a stylish pram for your newborn. Note: for both strollers the bassinet needs to be purchased separately.

Newborn Stroller: Although both stroller seats cannot directly be used for newborns, the strollers can still easily be made compatible for newborns. By replacing the stroller seats with an infant car seat or a bassinet, you can safely carry your newborn aboard the strollers. Once your baby is old enough, you can switch back to the stroller seat.

All-Terrain Wheels with Suspension System: both Nuna Mixx and the Uppababy Cruz strollers have great quality all-terrain wheels with a nice suspension system for smooth and bump-free rides. They both have nice large wheels that ride really nicely across both smooth sidewalks and rough paths. But if comparing the two, I’d say the Uppababy Cruz moves more nicely and has a smooth and easy feel when pushing/maneuvering.

One-Hand Multi-Position Recline and Footrest: the seats for both strollers can be adjusted into multiple positions using just a single hand. Your baby can switch from sitting upright to laying horizontally in a completely flat recline – it is especially great and convenient for taking naps.

In addition, both strollers have a footrest with the stroller seats. The Nuna Mixx stroller has a one-position footrest, while the Uppababy Cruz footrest can be adjusted into multiple positions. While the one-position footrest gives your child room to rest their legs while sitting upright, the adjustable footrest is great for when your kid sits in a different position. And is especially great for when they lay back to take a nap.

5-Point Harness: in terms of safety, both strollers have a 5-point harness system that keeps your baby safely strapped into the stroller seat. A bonus feature for the UPPAbaby Vista harness is that it can be adjusted to fit the height of smaller or taller kids. So once your baby is older the harnesses don’t become too tight or uncomfortable.

Reversible Stroller Seat: lastly, both stroller seats can be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing. This gives you more options for riding the stroller!

Stroller Fold: Although both strollers require two hands to fold, they both fold up quite easily in a single step. This makes it quite quick and easy to fold in one go. And in terms of how compact the fold is, the Uppababy Cruz is a bit more compact than the Nuna Mixx when folded. The Cruz is about 22 inches wide and only 16 inches tall, while the Nuna Mixx is 23.5 inches wide and about 18 inches tall. You’d need quite a bit of space if you’re storing either strollers at home or carrying it in your car.

As a bonus, the Uppababy Cruz folds into a self-standing position making it a bit easier to store in corners without worrying about it tipping over.

Adjustable Handlebar: the handlebars for both strollers can be adjusted to fit the height of the parent handling the stroller. This is especially great for tall and short parents, allowing you to have the handlebar adjusted to your height or your partner’s.

Nuna Mixx vs Uppababy Cruz – Weight & Capacity

Both the Nuna Mixx and the Uppababy Cruz strollers do not fall into the lightweight strollers category. They are both considered full-size strollers with lots of features for everyday use. But as a plus, they fall within a decent weight range for full-size strollers. The Nuna Mixx is slightly heavier at 27 lbs, while the Uppababy Cruz is just 25.5 lbs.

Uppababy Cruz Stroller Weight: 25.5 lbs

Nuna Mixx Stroller Weight: 27 lbs

In terms of carrying capacity, both strollers are able to carry up to 50 lbs of child weight. This makes them suitable for both small and big toddlers – up to 6 year olds.

Nuna Mixx vs Uppababy Cruz – Dimensions

When unfolded, the Uppababy Cruz is slightly more compact than the Nuna Mixx. It is only 22 inches wide, while the Nuna Mixx is 23 inches. I’d say, both strollers are quite compact and not so bulky in size.

Unfolded Dimension:

Nuna Mixx37″L x 23.5″W x 44″H
Uppababy Cruz22.25 W x 37 L x 39.5 H

Once folded, the Uppababy Cruz is also slightly smaller than the Nuna Mixx. So in terms of size, I’d say the Uppababy Cruz wins.

Folded Dimension:

Nuna Mixx34″L x 23.5″ x 18″H
Uppababy Cruz16.5″ L x 22.8″ W x 33″ H

Nuna Mixx vs Uppababy Cruz – Basket

Both strollers have quite large storage baskets. The Uppababy Cruz basket can carry up to 30 lbs of weight and the Nuna Mixx also carries just about the same. This gives you enough room to carry your on-the-go items like diapers, bottles, toys, or snacks. You won’t always need to carry that extra bag with you.

Note: the Nuna Mixx also allows you to attach an extra seat for a second baby. However this seat replaces the stroller basket. So if you’re using the Nuna Mixx as a double stroller, you won’t have a basket to hold your stuff.

Nuna Mixx vs Uppababy Cruz – Canopy

If you’re looking for a nice large canopy with your stroller, then both strollers are there for you. They both have UPF50, sun-proof canopies that help protect your kid against harmful UV-rays. Apart from the UPF50 features, the canopies are both of high quality fabrics and great design with a lot of attention to detail. They don’t get wrinkly or look of low quality material like most regular strollers have.

Colors

The Nuna Mixx stroller has up to 3 different color options while the Uppababy Cruz has up to 5 options. This gives you a few options and allows you to pick a color that suits you more.

Pros & Cons

Nuna Mixx

Pros
  • Great luxury design and look
  • All terrain wheels with suspension system
  • Adjustable handlebar
  • Car seat and bassinet compatible
Cons
  • Quite expensive
  • Adapter needed for car seat
  • Quite heavy at 27 lbs

The Nuna Mixx is a top quality luxury style stroller with lots of great features as listed above. However, it also has a few Cons which includes – its price, additional cost for car seat adapter, and its weight at almost 30 lbs. The Nuna Mixx can be quite costly compared to most strollers available, and if you want to get additional accessories like the adapter, you’d have to spend a few extra dollars as well. Also, the stroller is quite heavy at 27 lbs which could be difficult for smaller parents to carry. You’d want to have a car with enough room to be able to travel with the stroller.

All these are points that should be considered before deciding on the stroller!

Uppababy Cruz

Pros
  • Compact full-size stroller with self standing fold
  • All terrain wheels with easy and smooth maneuver
  • Adjustable handlebar
  • Car seat and bassinet compatible
Cons
  • Quite expensive
  • Extra accessories e.g infant car seat, costs a lot more

The Uppababy Cruz is also a luxury style stroller for everyday use. It has almost all the same features as the Nuna Mixx. And its Cons are also quite similar. It is quite expensive compared to most full-size strollers, and also purchasing extra accessories cost a lot. Apart from these, the Uppababy Cruz is one of the best single strollers out there for your kid.
